Welcome to Our New Megaformer Instructor Bek Antonucci...

Team LA Fit

Welcome vibes to our new Megaformer instructor Bek Antonucci! We’re super excited to have Bek join the LA Fit fold.

Let’s get to know her better.

We know you as an LA Fit member and the woman behind the luxurious and sustainable activewear range ECONIQ ACTIV. Tell us a bit more about yourself.

I am a vibrant and highly energetic person who absolutely loves to get the most out of life! I belong outdoors in nature, and my favourite place in the world to be is at the beach. My personal passions and interests include trying every and all different style of fitness, drinking coffee, taking coast walks and sunset meditations. As well as personal development, leadership and new age psychology. ECONIQ ACTIV has been my baby for the past 6 months (which takes up most of my time), but I do have a life outside of her! I am incredibly family oriented and love to spend time with family and friends. I have been in the fitness industry for over ten years and actively share my diverse journey so that other women can learn from my experiences.

Why did you choose to join LA Fit?

A very big coincidence! I was meeting with Jaye and Claire to discuss LA Fit becoming a stockist of ECONIQ ACTIV (which you now are!) and Claire winked at me (we all know she loves her winking!) and asked what I thought about becoming an LA Fit instructor. I just loved the energy, ethos, philosophy, clients, staff, and studios at LA Fit. I felt it was an environment I wanted to be a part of! I truly believe that environment is everything and you always have to put yourself in environments that allow you to thrive. So naturally, I said yes!

What’s your health and fitness philosophy?

It’s a simple one that has taken me over ten years to truly understand – “there are no shortcuts to any place worth going.” My introduction to the fitness industry was a rather harsh one. I found fitness at the same time I was introduced to dieting and at 19 became obsessed with fitness/bodybuilding/bikini competitions. Since then, I have witnessed thousands of young women take the same journey. I always wanted results fast (tomorrow would be great, yesterday would have been better!) which was only ever to my detriment. Fast results are never maintainable results. So now my health and fitness approach is to always think with a marathon mentality rather than a sprint.

What advice do you like to share with your fitness clients?

Apply habits that FEEL good. Know that everyone is unique and everybody is different. So what works for one won’t work for all. There is no cookie cutter approach to your health and fitness. But if you listen to yourself and to what FEELS good then I bet you'll find what you're searching for. If you're still confused and unable to listen to your intuition over all of the noise (common) then my advice is to choose lifestyle over looks, choose fun and fulfilment. Enjoy every moment of the fitness (and life) ride, and be grateful that we have these incredible, powerful, able, capable bodies that we can push to our limits. How lucky are we? How lucky are we that we get to exercise? How lucky are we that we get to do the exercises we don’t want to do! A  lot of my clients hate lunges, and I would always say if our legs were taken from us tomorrow I bet we would all wish that we lunged every day. So be grateful for what we have, while we have it. We are all so very very lucky.

What do you love about Megaformer?

I love the deep burn that you get from Mega, it's unlike anything else I have experienced in the fitness industry so far. I also love how it's gentle on your body but also intense. Priority for me is always placed on structural balance, postural alignment and safety. I want to know that what we are doing now is going to benefit us in years to come. It’s not just working out for the sake of burning calories, but building a beautifully strong body that moves freely.

What’s your favourite move?

It’s definitely a tie for me between Teaser and Standing Inner Thigh! You can expect to have both of those in most of my classes. I love the burn and how these two exercises specifically target muscles that I otherwise struggle to activate.

What do you hope members will get out of your classes?

An intense workout. My intention for every session is that you feel rewarded after working out with me. I know there's nothing worse than booking in for a class and leaving feeling as though you had more in the tank. My commitment to you is to train you how I would expect to be trained. Our sessions should be equally hard and fun. I want you to wake up in the morning and think “I can’t wait to go to LA Fit today!!!”
