Libby Sadler – 10 Years at LA Fit

Not many people can say that their first class was before LA Fit even opened its doors! We're celebrating 10 years with one of our O.G. members Libby Sadler. At last count you were up to 1790 Lagree classes over the past 10 years, dare we say… the last decade. How do you feel? Old! But really privileged to have been part of the journey of LA Fit from the very beginning! And to have discovered such an amazing and unique program that I love.    I can't believe I've done 1,790 classes but I can say that none of them have been easy - and that's why I love Lagree. Tell us about your LA Fit journey. Highlight of your 10 years at LA Fit? I started before the doors officially opened doing a practice class with Jacinta who invited a few friends to try it out. From there, when the Subi studio opened, I gave the Megaformer ago and after a few weeks I was hooked and never looked back.  Highlights include the opening of the Highgate studio (I was living in Mount Lawley at the time so it amazing to have a studio so close to home!), taking part in classes with various master trainers to get their form and technique tips and of course meeting lots of amazing people.  What do you enjoy about being a part of the LA Fit community? Just that - it's a community. It's not a big, faceless gym or franchise Pilates studio.  We KEEP IT REAL, MAKE TIME, BE FUN, LEAD THE PACK - which of these LA Fit values do you resonate with most and why? It would have to be Keep It Real. I'm definitely a realist and like a fitness method that's straight to the point.  Favourite move? This is a hard one! I have lots and it changes on the regular but that said, side lying leg press is always up there and I love a heavy ab set off the back of the machine, it always guarantees maximum burn. Seeing as you’ve completed an obscene amount of classes, can you share a secret (or three) on staying motivated and consistent with your training?
  1. I love it. If you don't enjoy the exercise you're doing you it's always going to be hard to be motivated to go.
  2. Having a membership. If I'm paying for something I'm going to show up and get the most out of it. Sure there are times I would rather sleep in or sit on the couch and watch Netflix but if I've booked in for a class I've made a commitment to go.
  3. Making it part of my routine. I do most of my classes after work so I go on my way home from the office so it just becomes part of my work day.
